Delete Account
You can delete your ScrapIt account at any time, either from inside the app or by submitting a request on this page. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Read below for the full breakdown of what is removed before you proceed.
1. Delete your account in the app
The easiest way to delete your account is directly inside ScrapIt:
- Open the ScrapIt app.
- Go to Profile or Settings (tap your avatar or the settings icon).
- Tap Delete Account.
- Read the confirmation screen — it explains what will be permanently removed — and confirm deletion.
Deletion begins immediately after you confirm. You will be signed out of the app and your account will no longer be accessible.
2. What deletion removes
When you delete your account, ScrapIt permanently removes the following data from all of our systems:
Your identity (Clerk)
- Your email address, full name, username, and user ID
- Your login credentials and authentication tokens
- Your Sign in with Apple token (revoked via the Apple REST API)
- Any linked social login connections
Your photos (Cloudflare R2)
- All album photos you uploaded — the photo files themselves are deleted from Cloudflare R2 object storage
- Your profile avatar image stored in Cloudflare R2 (if stored there)
Your database records (Supabase)
All rows tied to your account are deleted from our database, including:
- Profile and account data — your username, display name, and profile settings
- Avatar record — the database entry pointing to your avatar image
- Albums and memories — all albums (scrapbooks) you created and own
- Photo records — all photo metadata entries tied to your albums (the corresponding R2 files are also deleted, as above)
- Album memberships — records showing which albums you belong to (as owner or member)
- Invite codes and invite records — any open or past invitations you created or received
- Sharing records — records of memories you shared with others or received from others, to the extent tied to your account
- Preferences — all saved preferences, hidden-people settings, and in-app configuration tied to your account
3. What deletion may not remove
Deletion removes everything tied to your account in our systems. However, a small number of data types may not be removed immediately or in full:
- Support or legal communications. Emails, messages, or reports you sent to ScrapIt support — or that were sent to us about your account — may be retained for a reasonable period for record-keeping, security, and legal-compliance purposes.
- Legally required records. Where we are required by law to retain certain information (for example, records related to a law-enforcement or legal compliance matter), we will retain only what the law requires and only for as long as required.
- Copies held by other users. If you shared a memory with anotherScrapIt user before deleting your account, that user received their own private copy of the memory. Deleting your account removes your originals from our systems; it does not reach into other users' accounts to remove copies they received from you. Those recipients can delete their copies at any time from within the app or by deleting their own accounts.
- Aggregated or de-identified data. If we have generated any fully anonymized statistical data that cannot be re-linked to you, that data may be retained as it is no longer personal information.
4. Subscriptions and billing (future)
ScrapIt does not currently offer paid subscriptions. If you have an active subscription in the future, be aware that deleting your ScrapIt account does not automatically cancel your App Store or Google Play subscription. You must cancel your subscription separately through your Apple ID settings (apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions) or Google Play account settings to avoid future charges.
5. How long deletion takes
When you delete your account in the app, deletion of your identity (Clerk), photos (Cloudflare R2), and database records (Supabase) begins immediately and is typically complete within a few minutes for most accounts.
If you submit a deletion request by email (see below), we will process it within 30 days of receiving your request, and will confirm once deletion is complete. Most requests are completed much faster.
6. Request deletion without reinstalling the app
If you are unable to open or reinstall ScrapIt to delete your account — for example, if you have lost access to your device or your login credentials — you can request account and data deletion directly by email. This page satisfies Google Play's requirement for a web-based deletion path that does not require reinstalling the app.
Submit a deletion request
Send an email to [email protected] with the subject line "Account Deletion Request" and include the following:
- The email address associated with your ScrapIt account — we use this to locate your account; we cannot process a request without it
- A brief description of your request (for example: "Please delete my account and all associated data")
- Optional: any additional context that might help us locate your account (such as your username), especially if you registered with a social login
We will confirm receipt, verify your identity against the email address provided, and complete deletion within 30 days. We will send you a confirmation email once deletion is done.
